Kimberly Juroviesky, CAPT, USAF, Retired/Disabled | President, Ketamine Taskforce Inc.

Kimberly Juroviesky, CAPT, USAF, Retired/Disabled

President, Ketamine Taskforce Inc.

Capt. Kimberly Juroviesky is a disabled United States Air Force veteran, Certifed Nurse Midwife and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. She was injured on active duty and developed Complex Regional Pain Syndrome from her injury. She began getting treated with Ketamine infusions in January 2015 and it saved her life. She started a 501c3 organization called the Ketamine Taskforce when she realized there was a huge issue with patients especially those at increased risk of suicide such as veterans and first responders being unable to afford Ketamine treatment. Unfortunately the VA, Medicare, and insurance companies refuse to cover this life saving treatment. The insurance companies claim that it is an experimental or off label use of the medication. Kimberly is working through the Taskforce on getting insurances to cover Ketamine fully for both mental health and pain. She is also working to advocate for patients and make sure that everyone has access to this important medicine. She hopes that this will break the ground for insurance companies in the future to pay for treatments with all psychedelic medicines as they become legal and mainstream. Kimberly and the Taskforce also realized that some like veterans and first responders can’t wait for insurances to start paying so the Kimberly together with her husband is working to put together Ketamine retreats for veterans and first responders at little or no cost to those that need them through the new, Healing Our Heroes Foundation. Kimberly also realized that some people are scared to try Ketamine due to things they hear or read in the media. She is the author of Ketamine Infusions: A Patients Guide to educate patients on what to expect prior to treatment and reduce the fear. She also recently published her new book, Ketamine Journey’s: A Journal for Integration of Ketamine Experiences, both available on Amazon.

Service members who have experienced combat, deployments, and intense training exercises often have a unique set of both mental and physical conditions stemming from their time in the military, and for which modern medicine has struggled to find solutions.

However, psychedelics such as ayahuasca, ibogaine, and 5-MeO-DMT, among others, are showing great promise for some of the conditions often faced by veterans, including PTSD and TBI.

As November is National Veteran and Military Families Month, we wanted to take a look at how these psychedelic medicines have been making an impact for many of our former servicemen and women and hear from those whose lives were so impacted that they made it their mission to help other veterans receive the same healing.

To answer those questions, we were honored to have panelists on this month’s webinar to cover:

  • What progress has been made in getting veterans access to psychedelic therapies
  • How psychedelic medicines address some of the conditions most commonly seen in the veteran population
  • What else, besides the psychedelic therapeutics themselves, is necessary to support healing
  • How nonprofit organizations are helping veterans afford psychedelic therapies

…and much more!

As always, there will be ample time for audience Q&A, so you’ll get to interact with the panelists directly!

So please join us for this live panel discussion on Thursday, November 21st at 5 pm Pacific, 8 pm Eastern.
